Township History

Fostoria was once booming with activity. Talk to any “old-timer” in the area and you will quickly learn that Fostoria has an interesting background.

Did you know that The Huckleberry Railroad, (so named because it was said that it ran so slow; a person could easily jump off the train, pick huckleberries and jump back on) had a regular route that came to Fostoria?  Once here, the locomotive turned around, and then headed back on the 19.5 mile journey to Flint.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Come into our Township Hall or our Library and check out all of our historic artifacts, collected over the years form former township employees and elders of our community.
