Township History

A local Historical Society is starting up and they have been meeting at the Township Library.  Please join us in our efforts to preserve the heritage of this area.  Bring in any old photographs of Fostoria and its surrounding area.  We are also interested in items such as old newspaper clippings, yearbooks, and other artifacts and memorabilia.  Please contact the township clerk with any questions regarding the new Historical Society.

Fostoria was once booming with activity. Talk to any “old-timer” in the area and you will quickly learn that Fostoria has an interesting background.

Did you know that The Huckleberry Railroad, (so named because it was said that it ran so slow; a person could easily jump off the train, pick huckleberries and jump back on) had a regular route that came to Fostoria?  Once here, the locomotive turned around, and then headed back on the 19.5 mile journey to Flint.
