WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP LIBRARY INTERNET USAGE POLICY

The Internet has become an essential tool for academic as well as personal research and communication. Access of the library computer is free of charge and open to students, faculty and staff, as well as residents of the entire area, that meet the following criteria:

  • Valid identification which includes your current address

  • Watertown Township Library Card in good standing

  • All overdue materials must be returned or paid for

  • Book Fine accruals must be under $10.00

It is expected that when usage is especially heavy that students working on academic assignments will always have priority over those using the Internet for personal work, email, or games.

We expect all Internet Users to adhere to the following rules and to use this valuable resource to access the internet in our Library responsibly:

  • No food or drink at the computer work station.

  • No online chatting permitted.

  • No pornography sites.

  • The Internet computer may not be used for illegal activity.

  • Users may download using their own storage device (i.e. CD, or travel drives) Downloading software from the Internet to the library’s computer is prohibited.

  • No accessing any sound or visual file that may disrupt other library patrons.

Please remember:

  • Technical support from the library staff is not available.

  • You will be charged 20 cents per page for printing documents at the computer workstation.

  • Bringing hardware equipment or physically attaching anything to the library’s computer, other than earphones, is prohibited.

NOTE: It is not acceptable to use our computers and Internet access for purposes or activities contrary to state and federal laws, including the sending or displaying of material deemed obscene or pornographic by the courts. Failure to comply will result in the loss of library privileges.
